Our Sunday!

So another one of my projects (this one was a super easy one) was to make Madi a Yo Gabba Gabba shirt. I always think how cute they are on the show. So I thought hey why not. Just wanted to show a lil support for my brother (he produced YGG!) I think it turned out pretty cute! This pic was actually Sat night! So our Sunday morning started out with Madi wanting to read books. How appropriate was she!! She even picked it out all by herself amongst her 100 other books! She saw me take a pic and look what she did in the next pic. Sorry Madi for not giving you your privacy!!!

This is Madi and I all ready for church. She is so stinkin' cute! I am so blessed to have her!

Apparently nursery wears her out cuz we live like 15 min way from church and I even gave her a snack (peanut butter with chocolate chip rice cake which she loves!) and she nibbled and fell asleep. She still had pieces in her mouth when she woke up!!

So after church and her nap we went to the Riverside Walk. Its really pretty over here. We have the Cumberland River that goes right through Clarksville and they built a huge park, bark park, and walk all along the river. So we found this little pond and went to feed the ducks....

ONLY.........

She grabs the bag........

She gets a piece of bread from the bag....

And she eats it!! She said forget you ducks (although she didn't really say it she was just thinkin it)!!!! I was laughin so hard!
Then of course when I laugh at her she just gets silly!!

OUR SHADOWS!!!

So this was funny. People are fishin' in this lil pond and I hear a big splash. I was like dang I didn't think fish in here were big enough. I turn around and the hook was in the goose's leg. Poor thing. It was squakin away! Madi was laughin at it! How rude!

They got it loose, but unfortunatly the hook is still in the leg! Good luck on that one!

Well that sums up our Sunday! Pretty eventful huh!!!

Labor of Love

So I decided while Jason is gone, I am gonna take on some projects. Let me take you back to the month of April when we decided we were gonna paint our house! Well this is the color we started with (see first pic!) But the problem is.... we never finished. As you can see the plate covers weren't back on. The other part of the living room still had BLUE tape up and trim wasn't done. It was just awful. I wish I would have taken some more before pics.... We decided we didn't like the brown. It was too much, cuz as you will see in some pics down below that our hallway leading to our living room is like a dark chocolate brown. So WAAAY to much brown. So Jason and I have been talking about changing it. Just finding the time. With Jason working 2 jobs and me working full time then coming home to a 1 year old! Kinda difficult! But since it is now September ALMOST October! I thought I would finish some problems to make our house seem more like a home! So when Madi went to bed off I went.

Well of course I primed it first! And since Jason wasn't here to help, I left him a message, that is now covered up!!

I have finished this wall and almost done with the other side too. BUT I will DEFINITELY get that done tomorrow!! My babysitter even agreed to stay a lil bit after I get off work to play with Madi while I finish it! So I took a pic from my door. So when you first walk into our home this is what you see!! How awesome is that. It is such a great reminder to me of how our homes should be. A sanctuary! My dad painted this painting of the Mesa Temple since it is where Jason and I got sealed! PS don't mind Dex he was too busy tryin to get to his toys!!! By the way he likes to steal Madis toys.....

But I want you to take a closer look in the pic above. If you look to the left of the table a BIG white spot!! Let me tell you. I got a call at work today and it was Quon (my babysitter.) She says "UM HEATHER I have a big problem. I got up to go to the bathroom and Madi was tryin to grab the gallon of paint and got a hold of it (my smart butt left it on the table!) it fell down and the lid popped off and now its all over the carpet and kitchen floor. I was like crap try to get it up the best you can. So when you are lookin at the spot its not bad. But now that I see it in this picture, its awful! I will have to work on that tomorrow! ANYWAYS!

The picture to the right of the Temple on the top is Madi in her blessing dress. Then the pic below it is our engagement pic that is set behind The Proclamation to the World. We got that as a wedding present!
And then of course here is a close up of the painting! Isn't it amazing!!! My dad is awesome!

Anyways there is a small update. I will keep you up to date as to what project I have next. He is gone for 13 more days! But who is counting?!?

The first pic is the sign we had up in Alaska while we were waiting for Jason to come home from Iraq. Its the only thing I had!! So anyways. Hope you enjoy!

So Madi and I walk in last night from going out and Jason was already home from work. And he is laying on the ground with his "hunting map" tryin to figure out where to go hunting in the morning. So Madi runs right up to him and lays down on the other side of the map just like he was!! It was great. I had to run and get the camera!! She kept pointing to places saying DEER!! It was so cute. Daddy was showin her the rounds on how to pick a good hunting spot!! Enjoy the pics!

She loves her daddy!

Madi is so happy to be learnin from her daddy!
And this is just a random pic of me chillin at work! I figure there aren't a lot of pics of me cuz I am the one always takin them!

Anyways we are headin to Manchester this weekend to see Jason 2 other daughters. The fair is goin on right now so we are gonna take them to it! Its gonna be fun for me to see a small town fair. Remind me of my Idaho days. Except this is smaller then Rexburg!!!

I officially have no Husband!!!

So "Deer Season" opened up today. So this is the time of year that I don't get to see Jason very much. I haven't expirienced it yet, because the first year while we were dating, well it didn't really matter, but he never went cuz we were in Alaska. Then after we got married, he was in Iraq. Then when he got home from Iraq, he got to go moose hunting a few times with his buddy but never killed any. So today he went out and was supposed to be to work at 3. So 2 rolls around. And I'm upset. Where are his priorities?? I was very very upset. Then 3 rolls around. Then 4. Then 5. Then 530. By this time I'm just plain worried. So I called the office over where he has to check in, and said he isn't back yet, and she said ok we will send a game warden out just to make sure everything is ok. Well Lo and Behold he was in the office at that time checking in his deer. He was lucky he had killed one. So 630 rolls around and he pulls up in the driveway. And I see hooves hangin from the truck. He said we are gonna go skin it. Come on load up Madi in the truck! So I go grab my camera. Cuz this is a sight I have NEVER seen. And now that I have seen it, I don't care to see it again. So instead of paying someone $45 to skin it in 7 minutes. Jason does it himself and takes and hour and a half. But it sure was fun to watch the "redneck" come out in him. Bless my COUNTRY HUSBAND!!! As you will see in these pics, don't mind his clothing! Its camo. He wears overalls. How cute is that!! HAHAHAHHA.... I just laugh when I look at him like that. It cracks me up! Anyways Madi wouldn't go near the thing. She got the tightest grip on me anytime I would try to walk up to it. So here are some pics. If you don't like seein blood and cut up deer, I suggest you stop here!!!! Apparently he is going back in the morning.

Madi stayin as far away as possible!!!

So Jason was like here Heather hold these while I cut the hide off. I said NO THANK YOU. So this little girl showed me up!! How sweet of her!

Madi's First Haircut

So I finally did it. I cut Madi's hair!! I gave her bangs and trimmed the back. It looks way cute. She looks grown up now! I will post more pics later when I actually have time to do it. I just got her out of the bath and started cuttin! Here are a few pics!!!

I got this in my email today from a good friend of mine. I thought it was very fitting for today. Jason will be deploying soon and we will go through yet another 15 months of not seeing each other. This poem made me cry, but its the Military Wife (maybe a lil Marsden too) in me. I love Jason more then anything, and I am proud of him for serving our country. As of right now all we know is that he will be going to Afghanistan no later then March of 09. But we will keep everyone updated!!

BE PROUD

This is for the young women that are waking up at 6
a.m. every morning, laying out clothes and packing
three lunches for those small precious children that
they have been left alone to care for.

This is for the pregnant Army wife wondering if her
husband will make it home in time to watch their
miracle happen.

This is for the childless Army wife, living in a town
or on a base alone where she is a complete stranger to
her surroundings.

This is for the women that feel like a third leg when
they go out with their friends and their husbands.

This is for the Army wife that canceled all her plans
to wait by the phone, and even though the phone broke
up and cut off every time you spoke to him, you waited
anyway.

This is a pledge to the women that cry themselves to
sleep in an empty bed.

This is to recognize the woman that felt like she was
dying inside when he said he had to go, but smiled for
him anyway.

This is for those of you that are faithfully in that
long line at the post office once a month, handling 2
large boxes and 2 small children like a pro.

This is for that woman that decided to remodel the
house to pass time, and then realized that she had no
idea what she was doing and sighed and wished she had
a little help.

This is for all the lonely nights, all the one-person
dinners, and all of the wondering thoughts because you
haven't heard from him in days.

This is for the sad Army wives, the angry Army wives,
and the strong Army wives.
A toast to you for falling apart, and putting
yourselves back together. Because a pay check isn't
enough, a body pillow in your bed is no consolation,
and a web cam can never compare.

This is for all of you no matter how easy or hard this
was for you. Our soldiers are brave, they are heroes,
but so are we. So the next time someone tells you that
they would never marry an Army guy, don't bother
explaining to them that you can't control who you
fall in love with. Just think of this and nod your
head, know that you are the stronger woman. Hold your
heads up high, hang that flag in your front yard,
stick 100 magnets on your car, and then give yourself
a pat on the back.

Be proud to be the woman that you are, be proud to be
an Army wife
.

Big Girl Bed

So we finally did it. We took the front rail off of Madi's crib. Now instead of sayin come on madi lets go nigh night in your crib, we say Madi lets go to bed. We put a lil guard rail up for now. And hopefully we will be able to take it down in a few months..... The only problem is when she is supposed to be taking a nap we find her in this first picture making a HUGE mess in her room with all her toys and playing! So I lay her 2 favorite blankets out for her on her bed and she climbs in and lays down. I can't believe she is big enough to have her own lil day bed! I love it though. She is gettin to become lil miss independant!! She even tries to put on her own diaper! Next step..... POTTY TRAINING!!!
